I just seeded video page 02. You can get it at http://www.mininova.org/tor/1209169.

For more information on Bittorrent see the post below.

Heaven Video Pages Now Available By BitTorrent!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Well I finally got around to to seeding the first video page for those of you who want to use BitTorrent to get it. Or to be exact mininova.com accepted my submission to seed the videos for free for me. And already after being seeded late last night the first video page has 4 seeds, 9 leechers and 222 downloads. And if you are wondering what I am talking about you can find out more about BitTorrent and P2P Here.

Also you can download the first video page using BitTorrent here
http://www.mininova.org/tor/1207462

And if you are new to BitTorrent you will be surprised to know over a billion TV-shows are downloaded every year using BitTorrent. So you can see by putting the video pages out on there that it opens them up to a huge audience. You can read more about this at torrentfreak.com.

Also if this is your first time downloading this way you will need a client. I use uTorrent one of the better ones and of course its free.

You will probably also want to use a good meta search like PizzaTorrent.com to make your searches easer. But keep in mind not all content on these sites is legal and probably most of it is not. So if you are downloading say the latest movie before it even comes out on DVD there is a chance you will be hearing from a lawyer. But it is perfectly legal and safe to download the heaven video pages and a vast amount of other content.

Drawing Practice

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

I have decided to make time again and start doing more traditional drawing. I like to do it but it seems I get so busy doing other things I forget to make time for it. But I believe its important to not only do digital art. So to get started with this I decided to have fun and do some copies of classics. The first one I did is a copy of Peter Paul Ruben’s Portrait Of A Sister Of Helene Fourment 1577-1640.

Here is my copy and below is the original.

Production Log (6) - Misc.

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Hi all just wanted to post a quick update on state of the project and site. And since I like lists below is a list:)

1. Its possible there could be some big news about the project later this week. So make sure and check back and please keep me and the project in your prayers.

2. Yesterday out of the blue the place that hosts the video pages stage6.com sent out an email saying they were shutting down the site on the 28th of this month. Needless to say this was unexpected of a site with 17 million visitors a month. Any way instead of explain why again here is a link to a story about it. So of course this sent me into a mild panic as I tried to find another place to host high quality DivX video. But with some prayer and searching I found Blip.tv Beta and uploaded the video pages there. Then I had to get the site developer Klaus to update the code to be able to work with the new video source. But he very nicely and dropped the other things he was doing and updated the code of the site for me. And every thing is already moved over so we do not have to worry about any down time for the site. Also the way he updated the site it will not be much faster to deal with problems with the hosts for the videos.

3. Money - Money always seems to be a problem and a blessing. God seems to never give me enough to feel comfortable but the money that is needed always some how turns up. And thats kind of the mode I am in right now. I have a couple of small jobs it looks like I will be doing and I am also stepping out in faith to setup a TV site. The TV site will be a collection of Christian and family TV feeds, radio feed and videos. I really really have been praying about doing this and about spending the money. But in the big picture the $280 or so is hardly any money but to me its a LOT at the moment. And I am still worried about spending it and if its the best way to do it but when I prayed about God showing me the way I got an email just shortly after from someone saying how much they liked the Beta version and how it was a blessing to them. So I am going to take this as a sign to spend the money on the project and trust in God to provide money for my other needs.

Also if you are interested you can play with the beta at TVgismo.com. The beta only has a few channels but the finished site will have many hundreds or thousands of links in an easy to use interface. You can see a non working mockup of the new site here Mockup.

4. Any way with all of that going on I have not had much time to work on the design for Adam and the look of the garden of eden. But I hope to be able to get back to working on that in another week or two.

Tutorial - Realistic Texturing And Detailing

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Well I finally decided to get around to start doing video tutorials. This first one is on realistic texturing and detailing using Photoshop. I am still working on getting the best quality of sound and video and getting the hang of making these. But if there is enough interest I will keep making them on subjects to do with illustration, drawing, painting etc.

Here is the link to the full size video on youtube (Full Size) and the video is also below.

Free Internet TV

TVgismo

Well I was busy the last two or three days putting together a website to make watching free internet TV easy. The main thing I wanted was a nice clean interface that was easy to use. So I got busy and made one. Any way its called TVgismo and yes I know its the other spelling of gizmo. Any way take a look and let me know if you like the idea. If there is enough positive feedback I will create a new one with a nice flash interface and much more content.

Press Release - Epic Tale Of The Fall And Rise Of Mankind Comes To Life In New Multimedia Movie Project.

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Epic Tale Of The Fall And Rise Of Mankind Comes To Life In New Multimedia Movie Project.

Today Patrick Lawrence announced the release of the first two “Video Pages” of his new serialized multimedia movie, “Heaven: The Fall And Rise Of Mankind.”

“Some people have said I am nuts for doing a project like this on my own without a budget, but sometimes you have to follow your dreams,” stated Patrick, director and sole staff member of the project. “I’m working with very limited budget, and I think ‘Heaven’ shows what can be done now with the latest technologies and how they are democratizing entertainment.”

The “Heaven” multimedia movie tells the epic story of the fall of Lucifer and mankind and the long path to final redemption of the human race. This story is played out over the great canvas of human history. And to tell this amazing Biblical story, Patrick is using a hybrid multimedia movie combining aspects of film and graphic novels, etc., into one project. It’s based on the concept of “video pages” and “audio pages.” Video pages are basicly short videos, and audio pages combine grapic novel style images with an audio soundtrack. The project will also be released in serialized form for free on the website www.theheavenmovie.com.

Key Features:

>High-quality full-screen SD video.

>Free viewing and download of the video files in the popular DivX format.

>Video can be played back on most DivX compatible devices.

>Stunning symphony orchestra soundtrack.

>Narration by respected English Shakespearean theater actor Barry Boys

>Epic story that stays true to Biblical sources.

>Advanced special effects and animation.

Bio: Patrick Lawrence is a full-time illustrator and VFX artist who specializes in Christian content.

Promoting Your Video 1

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Well with the launch of the new site I decided to take a little time off from production and work on promotion for the last week or so. And in working on promoting the site is really split into two avenues. The first one is promoting the site by getting it listed on related lists of multimedia and movie projects. And also getting links from any other site you can make a deal with to help your rankings and drive more traffic to you. Then the other avenue is promoting the video pages. The main way to do this is to upload the video pages to as many video hosting sites as possible and to add the video feeds to video search engines. So after working on it all this week I found some tools to make life easer and I thought I would share them. And to start off I will talk about promoting a video online.

Rules

1. Submit your video to as many hosting sites as possible.

This is the most important rule in promoting your video. There are a large number of sites with more added all the time. Here is list of few to give you an idea Stage6, Godtube, Sclipo, Sumo, Sevenload, Youtube, Google, Dailymotion, Blip, Metacafe, Yahoo, Facebook, Myspace, Vimeo, Revver, Veoh, Vsocial, Photobucket, and Putfile. By posting on these each of these sites you get access to their huge base of visitors. And not only that your video can get picked up by other sites that scan those sites and soon you can have hundreds of sites with your video embedded. But it does seem to have a lot to do with number of views of the video, number of comments and keywords etc. For example this test video Creation has 35,000+ views and a large number of other sites with it embedded. And when they show the description then you get a link back to your main site if you remembered to put a link there. For example the Creation video above shows up on this Honk Kong based site Here.

So now I am sure you want to know an easer way to post to all of these places without spending days doing it. Well so did I so after much search I found several sites that will let you upload the video one time and they will upload to all of the sites they support. And they will do it for nothing or a very modest fee. They are…

Vidmetrix
Pretty nice but does not support many sites.

Heyspread
Submits to the most sites as of this moment but does not seem to save the username and passwords. This would be a problem is you uploaded lots of videos every month. Or you might find an autofill widget that would work to help with this.

VideoPostRobot
Supports a lot of sites but looks a little like a scam or addware etc. Trying to find out more about it before I try it.

Tubemogul
Probably the most easy to use but Heyspread submits to more sites.

Also keep in mind its still worth uploading by hand to sites they do not support like Stage6 and Godtube.

More coming soon.
